The Wellness Center

Welcome to the Wellness Center!

The GWHS Wellness Center is a comprehensive center available on campus in room 121 for students and the school community. You can come to us for any reason possible including: condoms, band aids, jobs, counseling, resting, nutrition questions, and more! We provide education and resources about various health topics such as: safe sex, alcohol and other drug use, depression, stress management, nutrition, family problems, and other important issues.

Our team consists of the Wellness Coordinator, Nurse, Community Health Outreach Worker, and RAMS therapists. In addition, we have several trained counseling and nursing interns that support our services. We also have a dynamic group of students called, Youth Outreach Workers (YOWs), that help represent Wellness services by leading classroom presentations and various interactive health promotion events throughout the school year.

Our services are free, voluntary, and confidential. Everything that happens in the Wellness Center, stays in the Wellness Center (unless there are concerns about your safety and well-being). Please stop by, and visit us!

Last day to submit non-urgent wellness referrals for counseling services is April 13th! After this date, we may not be able to meet with your referral before the end of the school year. Please contact the Wellness Coordinator at: if you need to consult.
The Wellness Referral Form is available both online and at the Wellness Center! If you or a student you know is interested in any service(s) at the Wellness Center, simply click here: Wellness Online Referral Form.
You can also make a written referral to the Wellness Center by clicking here: Wellness Referral Form.docx. Please turn in any completed referral forms to the Wellness Center mailbox in the main office or to room 121.
Our Locker Section at the bottom right hand corner of this Wellness School Loop website also has the link and word document.
Thank you!

Our Services

We offer support to students for personal and health-related concerns such as: chronic medical conditions (eg. asthma, diabetes), academic stress, depression, family conflict, relationship issues, sexual heath, and alcohol or drug use. We also promote healthy choices and positive youth development with school-wide health awareness events and sponsoring ongoing interactive support groups.

Our services are voluntary and confidential, which means students decide if they would like to access services, and we don't share personal student information unless there are concerns for their safety and well-being. Often, for more serious or long-term services, we will connect students with providers in the community or through their health insurance plan.

How to Access Services

Students may see the nurse or a counselor by appointment, or with a pass from their teacher during class time. Students may also drop in at lunch and after school to see us without a pass.  Parents, teachers, school staff and student peers may also refer students and encourage them to come talk to us. Referral forms can be found on the bottom right hand corner of this school loop page.
